The difference between electroplating and electrophoresis

Electroplating

Coating metal or other insoluble materials as the anode, the workpiece to be plated as the cathode, coating metal cation is reduced on the surface of the workpiece to be plated to form a coating. In order to eliminate the interference of other cations, and make the coating uniform, firm, need to use the solution of metal cations containing coating to do electroplating solution, in order to keep the concentration of metal cations of coating unchanged. The purpose of electroplating is to change the surface property or size of the substrate by plating metal coating on it. Electroplating can enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (corrosion resistant metals are used for coating metals), increase hardness, prevent wear, improve electrical conductivity, lubricity, heat resistance, and beautiful surface.

electrophoresis

Electrophoretic coating is applied at the anode and cathode poles, under the action of voltage, the charged coating ions move to the cathode, and the alkaline action produced by the cathode surface to form an insoluble substance, deposited on the surface of the workpiece. Characteristics of electrophoretic surface treatment process:

Electrophoretic paint film has the advantages of plump, uniform, flat and smooth coating. The hardness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, impact resistance and permeability of electrophoretic paint film are obviously better than other coating processes. Electrophoretic process is superior to other coating processes.

The difference between electroplating and electrophoresis

Electroplating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on some metal surfaces using the principle of electrolysis. Electrophoresis: Movement of charged particles (ions) in solution in an electric field. The technique of separating charged particles by moving them at different speeds in an electric field is called electrophoresis. Electrophoresis, also known as electrodeposition, swimming paint, electrodeposition.
